Kevin's Testimony
At an early age, I believed in God but not in Jesus Christ or any "religion." My parents enrolled me into Christian school when I was 8 years old, even though my father was not a Christian. The love of the Christian students toward me softened my heart and I wanted to be a Christian, but I did not know what that meant. We moved and I attended another Christian school from third grade through high school. One day that first year, I was being taught that Jesus died on the cross for my sin and rose again. It was as if it was the first time I had heard that about Jesus. I no longer doubted that Jesus is God, for who else could raise Himself from the dead? Even though I now believed about Jesus Christ and I thought I had become a Christian in second grade, I could never remember a definite decision point in my life. At age ten while in my bed, I thought of how my father would go to hell if he died, then I thought of my own uncertainty. I cried out to God and admitted my guilt for my sin and asked God to save me if I was not already saved, and the peace of God came over me. I have never doubted since that time that I have repented and believed on the Lord Jesus Christ to forgive my sin and give me eternal life!
At age 12, I was baptized. I also surrendered my future to the Lord while at my only week of Christian camp. At age 16, I was called to full time ministry at the only youth conference I ever attended. I went to Pensacola Christian College 2002-2008. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Evangelism and a Master of Arts in Bible Exposition. While there, I worked for A Beka Book Distribution Center for six years on and off. I served as a prayer leader, summer team leader, floor leader, Collegian secretary, songleader, Chaplain, Vice President, and President. I volunteered one summer as Junior Counselor and one week as a Deaf Counselor at the Bill Rice Ranch. I ministered via Truth Alive one summer. It is while leading VBS at a Heritage Baptist Church in Long Island that the Lord called me to New York City. I took a 5 day missions trip in the inner city of New York that God transformed into 30 days, using me to start and lead basically a daily Bible Club that was very fruitful. While in Pensacola, I interned at Bible Baptist Church of Spanish Fort, AL for four years on and off and even co-interim pastored. The church split once and wrongfully dismissed a pastor within the four years I served. It has been good to see that it made it through those difficult years and is doing well now.
My wife and I met at Pensacola Christian College. We married on May 28, 2007. We now have four children plus one with the Lord. Her father Martin Holland, is the pastor of our sending church, Maranatha Baptist Church of Killeen, Texas. We spent two years on deputation and ministered over a year in New York City. I worked with a church planter and three evangelists. We served at an Independent Baptist Church in upper Manhattan. We defended the gospel there from errors privately introduced to a core group two years prior to our coming. Sadly, leadership had taught that one's spirit gets saved by grace through faith, but that a Christian must work to save his soul! The Lord called us to that challenging term for the sake of both the gospel and that church. Praise God while we were there that many came to realize this error and that after we left, they made tough choices in taking a stand for the Gospel and God's Word. We can thank God that in its place a faithful and strong church started and grew to see God do great things - New Beginning Baptist Church. After 7 years, God led our congregation to integrate into a like-minded church named Manhattan Bible Church. This has been a blessing to the congregants from both sides and has created more opportunities for the kingdom of God together! It is here where I have the opportunity to pastor and finally invest in building up Unashamed for Christ Ministries, which God placed on my heart in seminary!

Childhood PastorDear Pastor:
Please allow me to introduce to you Kevin Pearcey, who has surrendered to serve the Lord in the inner city of New York City. He is a graduate of Pensacola Christian College, an independent Baptist, fundamental, separated, and uses the King James translation of God’s Word. Kevin was saved in my wife’s class room while attending our Christian school, at Calvary Baptist Church in Canon City, Colorado. Right from the beginning it was evident that God had something special for Kevin. He is a student of the word and an excellent Bible preacher, and I believe that God has prepared him for this special ministry. You and I know that the only way for missionaries to get to the field is through local churches to support the ministries of these servants of God. Please allow this young man the opportunity to present his ministry in your church. Occupying until Jesus comes, Ron Draper (written 2008, and has since went on to be with the Lord) |

4509 Trimmier Road Killeen, Texas 76549 May 4, 2012 Dear Sirs, I am writing this letter on behalf of Kevin Pearcey who is called to be a missionary to New York City out of our Church. He has a tremendous burden to plant a church in and evangelize the cities of New York. Kevin has lived in the city of New York for 1 ½ years assisting an Independent Baptist Church in Manhattan. His time living in New York I believe has equipped for the tremendous task that God has called him to do. Kevin is a passionate speaker who knows how to rightly handle the Word of God. His ministry “Unashamed for Christ” is something I believe we as Fundamentalists has seen in past years is so much needed in the inner cities of our country. If there are any questions that I may answer as his Pastor please do not hesitate to call me. Thank you so much for your considerations toward this letter on the behalf of Pearceys, Missionaries to New York City. May the Lord bless you in His service. In Christ, Pastor Martin Holland 1 Cor. 9:16 |
